Privacy Policy — Hexa Word

Hexa Word ("the App") is a free mobile word-puzzle game published by Cozy Games ("we", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what limited data the App collects, why we collect it, and how to contact us with questions.

We are a small independent developer. We do not sell user data. We do not build user profiles. We do not run any backend server that stores your personal information. The data we collect is the minimum necessary to show ads, fix crashes, and understand whether people are enjoying the game.

1. Data we collect

1.1 Device identifiers (for advertising)

The App displays advertisements via Google AdMob — a bottom banner during play, occasional full-screen interstitials between levels, and optional rewarded videos you can choose to watch in exchange for in-game gems. AdMob reads your device's Advertising ID (a resettable identifier provided by Android) and may collect general device information (model, OS version, screen size, country code) and approximate, IP-based location to serve relevant ads. You can reset or opt out of this identifier at any time via your Android settings: Settings → Privacy → Ads → Delete advertising ID.

In the European Economic Area, the UK, and applicable US states, the App shows a consent prompt (Google's UMP) before serving personalized ads. AdMob's own privacy practices are documented at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

1.2 Analytics events (for product improvement)

We use Firebase Analytics to understand how players interact with the App — which packs are played, how far players get, when they return. Firebase Analytics generates an anonymous installation ID (not tied to your name, email, phone, or any other personally identifiable information) and records gameplay events such as "level started," "level solved," and "rewarded ad watched." We use these aggregate counts to decide which features to invest in next.

1.3 Crash diagnostics

If the App crashes, Firebase may collect a diagnostic stack trace (the lines of code that failed). This contains no personal information — only the technical details we need to fix the bug.

2. Data we do NOT collect

The App does not collect or transmit any of the following:

Your name, email address, phone number, or any other contact information
Your precise location
Your photos, videos, audio, or files
Your contacts, calendar, or messages
Your browsing history outside the App
Your health, fitness, or medical information
Your financial information (the App has no in-app purchases)

3. How we share data

We share device identifiers with Google AdMob solely for the purpose of serving ads. We share anonymous gameplay events with Firebase Analytics solely to understand product usage. We do not share, sell, rent, or trade your data with any other party.

4. Children's privacy

Hexa Word is rated for ages 13 and older. The App is not directed to children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child under 13 has used the App, please contact us and we will assist in removing any associated data.

5. Your rights and choices

Opt out of personalized ads: Settings → Privacy → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization (Android device-level).
Delete your advertising ID: Settings → Privacy → Ads → Delete advertising ID.
Clear local game data: Android Settings → Apps → Hexa Word → Storage → Clear data (removes your saved progress and gems on the device).
Uninstall the App: Removes all local data immediately. Firebase Analytics data linked to that installation becomes orphaned and is auto-deleted in due course.
Request data deletion: Email us at the address below — we will respond within 30 days.

6. Data retention

Firebase Analytics retains event data for up to 14 months by default. After that period, individual event records are automatically deleted; only aggregate statistics remain.

7. International data transfers

Google AdMob and Firebase Analytics may process data on servers located outside your country of residence (typically in the United States or the European Union). Both services maintain standard contractual clauses for international data transfers in compliance with GDPR.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Substantial changes will be announced via an in-app notification.
